Hipokryzja

[edit]

:) Moze cos w stylu "Rulers of Poland"?
No tak, masz racje. Chodz to by bylo raczej skierowane przeciw Lukaszence, a nie narodzie.
Technicznie rowniez Mikolaj i Aleksander nimi byli, jednak ten szablon sluzy jedynie do nawigacji miedzy artykulami.

Wyobrazasz sobie by Litwini lub Ukraincy dopuscili by wstawiac polskie nazwy do osiedli Wilna i Lwowa?

Halibutt's RfA

[edit]
Thanks. WikiThanks.
Thanks. WikiThanks.
I would like to express my thanks to all the people who took part in my (failed) RfA voting. I was both surprised and delighted about the amount of support votes and all the kind words! I was also surprised by the amount of people who stated clearly that they do care, be it by voting in for or against my candidacy. That's what Wiki community is about and I'm really pleased to see that it works.
As my RfA voting failed with 71% support, I don't plan to reapply for adminship any more. However, I hope I might still be of some help to the community. Cheers! Halibutt 05:10, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Shomroni tora1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Simetrical (talk • contribs) 00:47, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the tag and gave the source in this article. I hope it's OK now. Regards! V1t 18:17, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at the original image, and I'm not sure that the tag given is equivalent to {{PD-self}}. My Hebrew isn't very good, but it looks like an education-only license to me, or something like that. {{PD-self}} means that the author claims no rights whatsoever to the image, and allows anyone to use it for any purpose: commercial, noncommercial, with or without attribution, etc.

If I'm correct that it imposes restrictions other than attribution and "copyleft", the license isn't allowed on any Wikipedia, whether English or Hebrew, except under fair use. No Wikimedia Foundation project is supposed to be accepting license terms more stringent than the GFDL, cc-by-sa, or similar licenses; restrictions to educational-only, noncommercial-only, or Wikipedia-only are explicitly prohibited by edict of Jimbo Wales. —Simetrical (talk • contribs) 05:34, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image you uploaded, Image:Gerb lugansk1.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. Thanks for uploading Image:GrbBanjeLuke.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. Sorting is a cultural issue; there is no universal sorting. The rules for sorting of some languages conflict with the rules for other languages. In English, the cultural rules are (among many other things) to sort on the English alphabet, A-Z. Accented letters (and ligatures) don't exist in the English alphabet, so must be converted to an appropriate equivalent. See WP:MCSTJR, the third line. Martin Heinrich Hammitzsch (born 22 May 1878 in Plauen, Dresden - died 6-12 May 1945 in Oberwiesenthal) - German architect and Adolf Hitler's brother-in-law. Hammitzsch was the son of the architect Heinrich Hammitzsch (1852-1910) and his wife Anna Hammitzsch nee Kohlsdorf (1854-1938).

He was educated in elementary school and real school for masons and carpenters in Dresden. From 1894 to 1898 he studied at the Royal Higher Vocational School in Chemnitz in Chemnitz where he received a bronze prize medal and a travel grant from the Böhriger Foundation. From 1898 until 1901 he studied at the Technical University of Dresden. He graduated as engineer in the field of architecture.

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Vuvar1! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Maria Kaczyńska

[edit]

Hello Vuvar, (Konnichi-wa Vuvar-san),
I see you have 'corrected' the place where Maria Kaczyńska was born. Are you certain this is correct?

  1. Was Machów, Lublin Voivodeship definitely wrong? I can't read the source in Polish(?) (I read write/English only!) An English source or translation would be fantastic!
  2. The actual place name is not linked, just a 'nearby' place called 'Narach (village)', which you have under it's former name of Kobylnik. Can we link the place name directly?
  3. The birthplace reference lacks data such as author, date of article, publication, publisher, date published etc.
  • This (5. ^styl.pl) or (6. ^prezydent.pl ) is what it looks like now. The English language webpage is also available, but it seems to have less 'sections' than the Polish one, (both versions seem to have more information about the pets then they do in the persons biography!) But if the data is on the English web page (which is already reference № 1) we really need to link directly to that, if possible.
  • This ( 1. ^"Official Biography: Maria Kaczyńska" (in English). Republic of Poland. 2010-04-10. Retrieved April 10, 2010. ) is more like it could/should be, if possible. Can we do better than ( 6. ^prezydent.pl )?

Any other additions you can make are most welcome. Your sources are probably much better than mine!. Almost forget to give condolences on this terrible event! I hope it does not lead to worse relations with Russia! (We Australians lost (only) our Prime Minister Harold Holt in 1967 when he dissapeared while swimming in heavy surf.) Thanks for your attention!. --220.101.28.25 (talk) 20:21, 16 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Got you message Vuvar1 and the references are much better now, I appreciate your work! Thank you! Maybe we need to say Maria Kaczyńska "was born in a tiny village that no longer exists". I assume it was because of World War 2 that it is gone? Again, my hopes for the best possible conclusion to this tragedy. --220.101.28.25 (talk) 12:53, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Concur with your last message re the village. If we aren't sure it still exists, or was incorporated, with references it stays out! Thanks! --220.101.28.25 (talk) 04:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Gerb lugansk1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 18:53, 1 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:53, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
