Original film

In 1956, an employee of Dominion Bridge was tasked with daily filming the construction. After 59 years he decided to release his film together with the conclusions of the investigation which followed the collapse. It's a very detailed and valuable historical record, but I'm not sure how to include it in this article as a verifiable source.Henrilebec (talk) 19:59, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

call me stupid, but the number of victims listed in the article is 19 and 27; ?????? (either way a disaster)

2009/05/25 Did I miss something here that my addition to the details was removed? I have created a login account to add to the "authenticity." Why don't we do this? I mean it is information and it is public knowledge, if a person was doing a report and wanted these names then I would expect that an Encyclopædia on the subject would try to have as much information on the topic. Do we expect that a person must go down to the bridge itself to find the names? That is not good. What if the plaque was stolen or lost in an accident where would one go or know to go to find out these names? It would be lost to history.--24.68.107.170 (talk) 05:27, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The names are all shown in the video of the bridge failure and the subsequent investigation. Since the original film was produced by Dominion Bridge Company, it doesn't meet Wikipedia requirements as "notable" or "fair use", etc, and can't be included in this article. I'm not even sure that I can mention it here! Anyway, the film exists on its own website, and all the names and people are there.Henrilebec (talk) 20:26, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Toll Bridge.

I was just told by my father that this bridge at one point was also a toll-bridge. He was not sure of the cost or when it was removed, but remembers the toll booths being on the PNE side of the crossing. Ship hits bridge? There is no information regarding the ship that missed the channel in fog and took out a span North of the lift span. The North tower was also tilted. This happened between 1970 and 1983 when I started working in Vancouver. Someone must have some detail of the event? There was a newspaper article in the bridge operators cabin.
