I have added a "prod" template to the article Diana L. Gomez, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Wikiproject Automobiles Notification

[edit]

Hi Rj, you were on the list of members at WikiProject Automobiles and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.

To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting Wiki Auto Project where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add to your userpage.

If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Contribs 04:22, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Intriguing Edits

[edit]

Have a look over at the article you had edited previously and let me know what you think RE: putting a brief bit about origins in the beginning, and the campaign to summarily remove any perceived negative information even if it's backed up by multiple cited sources in blockquoted citation referenced format. New Category

[edit]

I liked how you created a new category for The Hunger Project. I have never created a new category, so perhaps you would be interested in creating one to encompass either Werner Erhard and/or Landmark Education and Erhard Seminars Training? Per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kent-Meridian High School, I just thought you'd like to know that the consensus for deleting High School articles now appears to be swinging back in favor of deletion. So this may indicate the beginning of another campaign to remove most High School articles. Your opinion on the AfD article would be appreciated. It might be helpful if a notability standard for High Schools could be agreed upon. Thank you. — RJH (talk) 16:36, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/(The Hunger Project), and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikipedical (talkcontribs)

Possible need for Administrator Intervention at The Hunger Project

[edit]

There is a need for more balance, and both positive AND negative sides to be represented in this article on The Hunger Project.

Is there a way that we (Smeelgova, Descendall, Enkido, Pedant17, Rj), can go to Wikipedia Administrators to resolve the positively-biased one-sided view that Jcoonrod purports to keep posting up on The Hunger Project, and also complain about his repeated deletions both on the article and discussion pages?Smeelgova 05:10, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rj. Thanks for your message - please remember to sign your messages using four tildes ("~~~~") so that other editors can quickly see who has left the message. Sorry if you already knew about that and you just forgot.

With regard to the edit I made to your user page, this was as per the procedure for deleting images - image deletions should be carried out cleanly without leaving broken links. Hope this explains why I edited your page. Regards, CLW 07:51, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed your edit to the dab page CSO where you helped format the page. I have to complain, though, because you bolded all the entries. This is actually discouraged on MOS:DP, and I clean up such overbolding whenever I see it. Thanks for helping out anyway! Melchoir 04:58, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CHNM Interview

[edit]

Hello,

I’m a historian working at the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University and we are very interested in digital, peer-produced works of history, including history articles in Wikipedia. We’d like to talk to people about their experiences working on articles in Wikipedia, in connection with a larger project on the history of the free and open source software movement. Would you be willing to talk with us about your involvement, either by phone, a/v chat, IM, or email? This could be as lengthy or brief a conversation as you wish.

Thanks for your consideration.

Short articles

[edit]

Hello! Short articles are welcome, but reposting that little stub about the Pennsylvania conservancy without any further information isn't much help to an end user. Can you please add more to it than what someone might already ascertain from the title? Thanks! - Lucky 6.9 05:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added List of U.S. cities with Asian American majority populations and List of U.S. cities with large Vietnamese American populations back under related topics because they belong there. Chinese Americans are a subgroup of Asian Americans. There is a connection between the Vietnamese American and Chinese American communities, not only because they are both Asian groups, but also because a significant number of Vietnamese Americans are of Chinese descent. — J3ff 22:52, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

On that note, I made similar changes to related topic section of List of U.S. cities with large Vietnamese American populations for the same reason. — J3ff 22:54, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Fixed your racism haha. There is now a List of U.S. communities with caucasian majority populations started. However I need someone to help me contest it's deletion. The Humungous Image Tagging Project

[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tzero.bmp. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 21:28, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)

i think it was from the ac propulsion site

Hello. I've listed Image:Tzero.bmp as a copyright violation. I'm afraid that it's not legal to put upload most images to Wikipedia. To qualify, an image has to fall into one of three categories:

 1. It can be in the public domain, such as an image produced by the U.S. government or a photo taken before 1923.
 2. It can be releasable under the GFDL or a compatible license (which pretty much only applies to images you create yourself.)
 3. It can be copyrighted but usable under a fair use claim. This one's complicated, but album covers or photos of historic events might count. Image:Tzero.bmp doesn't fall into this category.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Best regards, – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 13:50, Mar 19, 2005 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Shiv Nadar, by Feba (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Shiv Nadar is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Shiv Nadar, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate Shiv Nadar itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Catherine Austin Fitts

[edit]

The article Catherine Austin Fitts has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable business person, no references for extended period of time

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AfD nomination of Corporate scandal

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Corporate scandal. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Corporate scandal. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Rj! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 9 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:31, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jack Rosenberg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. scope_creepTalk 14:56, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
